You can ask us to delete your Scavr account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to make that request, what gets deleted, and what we keep.
Email [email protected] from the email address you use to sign in to Scavr, with the subject “Account deletion request”.
Sending the request from your account's own email address lets us confirm the request is really from you. If you signed in with Google, use that Google account's email address.
We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days. If we can't verify that the request came from the account owner, we'll contact you to confirm before deleting anything.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your account and sign-in credentials | Permanently deleted |
| Your email address and display name | Permanently deleted |
| Photos and videos you submitted to hunts | Permanently deleted from storage |
| Your challenge submissions and scores | Permanently deleted |
| Your team memberships | Removed from all teams |
| Hunts you created (as an organizer) | Deleted, along with their challenges |
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You will lose access to any hunt you have joined or created.
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Payment and transaction records for paid hunts | Required for tax, accounting, and legal obligations | As required by law (typically 7 years) |
| Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics | No longer identifies you | Indefinitely |
| Records needed to resolve a dispute or enforce our terms | Legal obligation | Only as long as necessary |
Backups are rotated on a regular schedule, so deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period after deletion before being overwritten.
If you'd rather remove specific items — for example a single photo or video you submitted — rather than your whole account, say so in your email and we'll handle that instead.
