Scavr, LLC · Effective 14 September 2026
This policy explains what information Scavr, LLC collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers our website at scavr.com, our web application at scavr.app, and our Scavr mobile apps for Android and iOS.
To use Scavr you need an account. When you register we collect your email address, and a display name if you provide one or if it comes from the sign-in provider you choose. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. We never receive your Google password.
Scavr is a scavenger hunt platform, so the core of the service is content you choose to submit:
Photos and videos you submit are visible to the organizer of that hunt, who reviews and scores them, and your team's score is visible on that hunt's leaderboard. Do not submit anything you would not want the hunt's organizer and your teammates to see.
Some challenges ask you to check in at a place. If you attempt one, the app asks permission to access your device's location and checks whether you are within the radius the organizer set.
We do not store your coordinates. The check happens on your device, and only the result — whether you were close enough, and when — is saved. Maps shown in the app are provided by Google Maps, which receives location data in order to display the map.
Location access is optional. If you decline it, you simply cannot complete location-based challenges.
The app asks for camera access so you can take photos, record video, and scan QR codes. QR codes are decoded on your device and compared locally; the scanned value is not transmitted to us. Camera access is optional and only requested when you use a feature that needs it.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to diagnose problems. These collect app interaction events, crash reports and stack traces, device identifiers, and device information such as model and operating system version.
Paid hunts are processed by Stripe. Payment card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are never received or stored by Scavr. We retain a record that a transaction occurred.
Our web servers log standard request data, which may include IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, and timestamps.
We do not collect your date of birth, home or mailing address, phone number, social media profiles, contacts, calendar, messages, call logs, health data, or financial account details.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. If Scavr is acquired or merges with another company, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
Your information is stored and processed in the United States on Google Cloud infrastructure. If you access Scavr from outside the United States, you are transferring information to the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
We keep your account information and submitted content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we remove that information as described below. We retain payment and transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and anonymized, aggregated statistics indefinitely, since they no longer identify you.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. See scavr.com/delete-account.html for how to do it and exactly what is removed.
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, or ask us to transfer it. Contact us using the details below.
You can revoke camera and location permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features will stop working, but the rest of the app will continue to function.
If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us and we will investigate and respond. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Scavr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Hunt organizers are responsible for obtaining any parental consent required for participants they invite.
Our website and web application use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. You can block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay signed in to scavr.app.
All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS, and data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service or the law. We will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will give notice through the app or by email.
